Several years ago, Spectrum removed TCM (Turner movie channel) and combined it with a sport's package for an additional charge (not cheap!). I did not want the sport's package. TCM is available with Sling for a small additional charge. I found that with Spectrum, half of their bundled channels are things I didn't even want. A lot of the things I did want are available only with additional charges. Spectrum can become quite expensive. No wonder people are looking for alternate choices.

SlingTV is good. We turn the service off and on depending on whether there's a show we want to watch while it's being broadcast. So when Top Chef season comes along, we get Sling for a while.

You still have to have very good internet bandwidth in order to get a good quality video stream. I have an ethernet cable hooked from my internet router (which has the broadband cable hooked up to it) to my Roku, which is the main device we use to stream videos on services like SlingTV.

Our TV has built-in roku.  Even though we don't get a lot of channels with our Spectrum streaming service, we can download the apps for these channels and watch programs that way.

I don't really care about having TCM on an everyday basis but I want the channel around the holidays because they show a lot of the old Christmas movies I really like.  I go in through the app on the tv and watch.

That can be a little bit of a hassle because I have to exit Spectrum to go through the app so there is no quickly jumping back and forth between channels.
