@Jordan2 , hopefully your comments will get to the place that can and will do something for you. I called almost every month for over a year. They do record the calls and the CS people and specifically the retention people actually write notes that show when your account is pulled up. I kept repeating myself which annoyed them a few times but they would sometimes at least take off ten or twenty bucks. These calls were horribly tiresome as much as an hour and a half long. I dreaded them but I continued to call. I hope you'll catch a break on yours!!

@CelticCrafter wrote:Our one year price guarantee with Optimum/Cablevision/Altice (whatever it is they are calling themselves this month) was up this month and the increase was $50 a month.
I called them and told them if they didn't do something we were going back to Fios. They reduced the bill to $5 LESS than what it had been before the increase.
Be careful to check and see which channels they might have removed.
Spectrum is notorious for moving channels up and down through the various brackets.

Just dump the cable! Do some research and decide which services offer what you want.
You will LOVE steaming! I’ve been streaming so many years that I’m not sure how long it has been. I’d never go back to the old way.
The high price of WIFI in order to stream, along with the various subscriptions actually adds up to similar pricing.

Hulu with live TV is now $54.99 a month . It went up twice in 2019. We don't care. It's still way cheaper than cable.
ARE YOU INCLUDING THE COST OF WIFI ADDED?

@Silver Lining wrote:@Jordan2 , so true. I have spent hours and hours and hours on the phone. My bill kept changing. I get lucky sometimes and they adjusted it. I think it depends on who takes your call. I've had two different CS reps who said I was getting ripped off for the specific services I was getting so they sort of temporarily "fixed" it. I hope they haven't been reprimanded or fired. I do all of my banking and have numerous other important accounts online using my longtime e-mail address with this carrier. It would be a huge inconvenience to switch and probably be a very difficult transition.
I researched and finally went out and bought an antenna in preparation for cutting the cable. I called my carrier to set the date. I had talked to a lot of retention specialists in the past. Mraculously I got a CS rep this time who offered me a great deal for the same or less money. He upgraded my internet speed, gave me a choice of one premium and upped my channels. I had to take a one year commitment. They've got me now and I guess they could still find a way to make changes. I'm paying more than if I'd switched to a Spectrum new customer deal but it would have been an extreme hassle and wasn't going to work in the long run.
I'm very happy paying thirty dollars less per month and getting a lot more for my money. The increased internet speed alone is worth it. I chose Starz/Encore (two for one). Could have chosen HBO, etc. I truly think this guy saw on his screen what decrepit equipment and poor service the carrier had been "providing" and overcharging. Sorry for going on and on but I want to give you some hope.

ITS THE “one year commitment “ that’s going to bite you.
Pay attention to the exact date and in one year, your next bill will double...

It really depends what you get. I have an upgraded internet that costs about $75 per month. I have had Amazon Prime as my main source for movies & TV for years. I got Prime for the video and it is worth every penny to me. Network TV cost me that much per month. Every other Prime benefit is just an added perk. I also have Hulu for some current TV shows but that is just a few dollars a month. I think it is less than $10. I save a lot of money by streaming and I enjoy watching this way. I’d never want to go back to network TV.

I am LIVID!!! In September my bill was $209.88 for triple play. In October my bill was $221.43 an increase of $11.55. Well today I get my bill and it's $237.24, WTH, that's an increase of $15.81! In the span of 5 months Spectrum has increased my bill by $27.36. I have been lax, I keep meaning to call and change my services, I'm definitely going to call tomorrow. Does Spectrum think you won't notice the higher bill, when you talk to them on the phone, they make it like your lucky to have their services at any price.

I've been having a nice long chat with Comcast. I stopped using them on 1/27/2020 and then Saturday morning they stole $77.95 from my bank account for the March payment for a service I haven't had for almost a month. They admit it was a mistake (gee, ya think?) and will evaluate my claim on the next billing cycle on the 28th. Evaluate it? What the bleep is there to evaluate? They admit I don't have their service and it ended on 1/27/2020. They admit they took the $77.95 for a service I no longer have. I demanded my money back immediately but they have a "process and procedures" they have to follow. Suffice to say I'm never dealing with Comcast again. If they rule in my favor they'll attempt to return the money to my bank account, but if that fails, they'll send me a check in four to six weeks. Yeah. Great customer service guys.

I was on the phone today with a CS rep to try and get a lower price on my bill. I think it all depends who you get on the line some reps are more willing to help you out than others. Anyway I ask if I step down from the silver plan I have to the select plan how much would I save. She quotes me a price that after taxes and all will be more money than I’m paying now! How is that even possible, do they think I’m an idiot? I’m going to call back, see if I get someone more understanding, if they’re not willing to work with me I’ll go with Verizon ( they offer to waive installation if you order online, give you a prepaid Visa gift card, and Disney + for free for a year). I know the second I leave Spectrum they will beg me to come back.

I have two questions, I hope someone can answer them. I have been with Spectrum for a little over 18 years, I have never switched to another cable provider. Spectrum and I will be parting ways, I'll be going to Verizon Fios. What I want to know, do I wait to cancel Spectrum's services until after Verizon installs their equipment? I have to ship the equipment back to Spectrum. Also do I get to keep my same address and password with my new router from Verizon?
