Sorting question

To those who are more adept at the new forum format than I am, is there a way to sort the message so that I can filter out "Recipes"?  I'm not at all intending to hurt the feeling of the helpful poster who posts all these recipes, but the way I have things set up, there are now about 6-7 recipes  on the front page, the way I have things set up.  Are there better options that I haven't found to filter posts?  Thanks for any help.  (And recipe ladies....no offense intended, of course!)
