I'm another super Meryl Streep fan! She is the best actor ever, IMO. She has learned to play musical instruments, learned multiple languages, and, well, the list goes on, for parts. She is truly an amazing artist.

I've also always been a huge Jessica Lange fan. I have some favorite movies of hers that I gravitate to whenever I come across them.

I have numerous Meryl Streep movies. Silkwood is one of mine. Can't think of one I don't like. I even love Mama Mia, which was widely panned. Her singing was very sweet and I loved her character. At the end, when she and the other ladies did that one ABBA number it just made me want to dance and clap my hands!

I just loved Silkwood. It one of the best movies ever. The script was mesmerizing, it just drew me in. It was suspenseful and engaging. The actors, all of them including Cher gave performances that have lasted all these years.

I think I am going over to Amazon and order it

hey chickenbutt

Hang onto that Silkwood DVD, it is almost priceless, It is out of print in many cases, and around 69 to over 100 in another case. I did find one for 14.99 in a region 2 format. Luckily I have a region 2 player. I got one so I could watch all my British DVD's months before they are released in the US as a region 1

Oh wow, who knew! I have both the DVD and the Blu-ray. There are a couple of favorite movies, like this one, that I keep updating the format. Smiley Happy

I agree with you about the performances. I'm also a huge Cher fan but not only for her music, but her acting is brilliant. One silly-ish piece she did was Mermaids (with Winona Ryder and Christina Ricci) and she was also really great in that.

But, Cher and Meryl together - pure platinum!

I think that picture of her is lovely. She had a more natural look - very fresh. I think she is a very attractive woman. She is so well spoken and articulate, that this enhances her appearance. She also can play any role and do it well! I have a lot of admiration for her and I cannot say that about many actresses in the world today.

She was so 'brilliant times a MILLION' in that role! What a movie, but she took it to the nth degree.
