Admittedly,  I was surprised when the Board of Directors renewed and renegotiated Rawlinson's contract in early 2025, given that there didn't seem to be much improvement in financial and stock performance.

Some incompetence seems to also be with members of the Board!

Based on performance or lack thereof, QVC egregiously overpaid their last honcho and continues to do the same with the current one. And yes, the board is to blame.

As for the hosts, nobody said the job was easy and to some extent their hypomanic, inauthentic behavior is likely mandated by inept management, but I've found it increasingly challenging to find much positive to say about them.

I absolutely agree.  QVC's strange and dubious decisions have been going on for a while now.

They bought and held onto Zulilly, a company so patently opposite from their own style of selling and audience.  Zulilly had huge losses year after year after year.  They bought HSN, re-branded as QVC Group (Qurate was always a dumb name that took away their hard won branding), and then closed the FL HQ.

I think most of the hosts do a very good job.  They're working under lots of pressure.  Management guidelines require more antics, stories, and game-show techniques that they think will engage the viewers quickly.  On the whole, they try their best, on air, in an ever-changing environment.
