OK, I'm not looking to pick a fight here, but for some real facts and experienced input. I was just checking out Zulily for the first time. I don't do fashion, jewelry or beauty, online or otherwise, but was in the home section. I saw stuff in there that I have purchased at Wal Mart for half the price, actual same products and sizes. And no returns on these items, is it that way for all their site? If so, what is the hype? Higher price, and no returns. What am I missing?
I look at and have bought from Overstock a number of times and been happy, and use Amazon some, but have had trouble with lost orders, wrong items sent, etc. so while I get why people like Amazon, I've had my issues.
With all these choices today with online shopping, who do you shop, and why. Is it about price, selection, shipping costs, etc. What is your favorite(s), and why?
Oh, and I keep coming back to Q because you can see the product demo over and over, while other sites have like one picture, and ease of returns if anything is wrong.

I always see Zulilly and see cute stuff for my grand daughter- But whenever I actually click on there, it seems they want me to "join" before I can even look! I DO love Overstock and have never been disappointed with them, but WHY does Zulilly make it so hard to even LOOK?
I like kitchen and cooking stuff, and I find a company called Fresh Finds is good ad so is Chefs Catalog. Of course for shoes it is Shoes Online or Zappos. Hanes has a great online site too, and I love the Pyramid Collection and Potpourri too.

90% of my shopping is online. I order everything from fabric to cat food and litter to gluten free products. Sometimes I buy online because in the stores they don't carry the item. Other times I buy online because what I need is not urgent, so if they offer free shipping, why not have it delivered to my house?

I shop mostly Amazon and lately Vera Bradley and some other retailers. 80% of my shopping is done online for convenience. I'm generally happy with what I purchase.

Use a throw-a-way email address.
Zulily has great deals but it takes minimum 2 weeks for delivery.

Target, I use my card and receive free shipping and 5% off. DSW for shoes mostly, they give rewards like $10 off (no minimum order). I also visit these sites and other sites of B&M stores (BB&Beyond, Home Depot, Walmart, Kohl's etc.) I have close to me to see if they have what I want in stock so I'm not running around the store trying to find it and tempted to buy other things, or wasting my time and gas. Many times I can order on the site and have free site to store delivery. Nice during the holidays!
Overstock is great and shipping is usually low. If I need something like a purse or shoes even housewares I head to Marshall's first because more times than not I get an excellent deal, then browse websites if I don't find what I need there.

hi, mominohio, I have been shopping the Nordstrom preseason sale today. Not the best prices ever, but they will go up on August 3 and I stock up mainly (well, I hesitate to admit this given prior posts) on hosiery, which is hard to find online. I am all stocked up on tights, and bought an Eileen Fisher sweater at a special sale price; also an Eileen West nightgown. And sports socks and tees. Free shipping and free returns; great customer service. It is a bit of a hassle to return at my local store, as they've done away with the little Customer Service room. I usually just mail them back and wait three weeks or so for the credit.
I also shop Anthropologie's sales. Sometimes free shipping. Nice clothes and sharp price drops during sales. Their curtains and kitchen items are also unusual and nice. Some 'free returns' deals; no hassle at my local store, though, and I usually do that.
I also shop Boden's sale. I really ordered a lot this summer, as I will be travelling in northerly places this winter and for some reason the sale had a lot of their unusually good winter wools. The sale goes down to 70% of the original prices (though sometimes it's as little as 10%). Best deals are on woolens and knits and shoes, but the shoes are a learning curve, as the Euro sizes (which I am familiar with) seem to run narrower and longer at Boden.
Costco Warehouse sales are the other site I shop on, esp. for office supplies and electronics.
ETA: How did I forget Sierra Trading Post? I just bought a gift, a Calvin Klein seersucker suit, for a lawyer nephew there. It's incredibly well priced for menswear and shoes, and also for ladies' shoes and _workout clothes_, which tend to be very overpriced elsewhere. I buy my New Balance shoes either on the Nordie's sale or on STP.

On 7/19/2014 september said: Zulily has some great brands, but you have to know you're going to keep the item. Therefore, I won't order shoes or clothing from them. a few days ago, they were featuring New Balance, so I thought I'd be safe ordering a replacement pair of running shoes, it they had the style I've been wearing. They didn't.
