I watch a very interesting program by National Geographic on Solitary Confinement and the basis of the film was discussing the whether or not the psychological effects of spending 22 hours in complete seclusion a day could be considered torture.
What do you think?
Personally I believe that it is torture. While I understand that it is the only way to deal with some violent prisoners, I think they should only be in for short length of time. Some of the prisoners in the film had been in solitary for almost 15 years.
