What solar storm?? I'm much more concerned about hurricanes this time of year.

ETA I think I'll go with this quote from Scientific American:

"The sun is unleashing powerful outbursts that could strike Earth, but these events are far more common—and much less worrisome—than some hyped headlines suggest."

Again, I'll save my worrying for hurricanes/tornadoes.

There isn’t a prediction for a specific solar storm with a doomsday date.🤪

Scientists are simply saying that historically we are due for a major solar storm at some point, and the particles that are emitted can have an impact on the electrical grid and the Internet.

Precautions need to be in place, that’s all. Solar storms happen all the time, and some are more severe than others.

The first dotgov site I mentioned in my previous post, states that solar activity is cyclical, and tracks when peak activity would be more likely to occur.

As far as trusting a site, I doubt that a for-profit channel/stream or .com has any capability to use AI & satellite manipulation to prevent any damage to the infrastructure if it ever would be in danger.

We know how to protect us from the sun.  Anything out there circulating the earth is "shaded" from the sun. Any rockets sent in to out space, etc.  Even when we went to the moon, the astronauts were protected from the sun.  The new Wood telescope is also protected.  Our sun is brutal to anything in our solar system.  i would laugh whenever I heard UFO stories.  Our sun is so hostile,  any alien creature coming to the solar system would fry instantly.  "Sol"......the name of our sun is bad boy.

My first thought goes back to New Years Eve 1999 and all the fear/preparations that went into preparing for computer crashes, etc., at midnight.
