Obviously, they're hiding behind the couch from the crazy intruder who did this terrible thing. Innocent, I tell you...lol.

Many years ago my sister had a German shepherd named Ruffy.
He was a beautiful dog. He'd never shown any signes of being destructive.
With that in mind, she went away over night.
She left instructions for a neighbor to come in the house a few times to feed him, take him out to potty and exercise him.
When she got home the following evening, Ruffy came flying up to the door to greet her. She looked around and didn't see any damage until...
She walked into the living room. There, she saw the beautiful pine coffee table with the entire corner chewed off.
At first she thought Ruffy had swallowed the wood...but it was all laying on the rug almost under the couch.
She had Ruffy checked out.
The Vet said he was probably anxious and excited at being alone and lonely so he started chewing and couldn't stop.
When she asked the dog care taker why she didn't see it.
The young person said, "When I came to take, Ruffy outside for a walk or to eat, he came running up to the door.
I didn't have to walk around the house because he was standing at the door.
We've always wondered if Ruffy was smart enough to meet the walker to the door so she wouldn't see the coffee table!
The Vet said he checked Ruffy's teeth and they looked like they'd been cleaned. Then he laughed and said, "I don't recommend that as a way to clean a dog's teeth.
As for the coffee table...it was easier for Ruffy to chew it because it was pine.

Zoe has ruined lots of furniture including my loveseat. Just one cushion. I just covered it up, will wait until she’s done teething to replace it

Been there, dealt with that.
Only, mine was not EVEN that bad! One day, while I was at work, my Samoyed ate the couch. He tore it up pretty good, but I had a friend back then who was an upholsterer and he re-did it for me.
It's been so long that I cannot recall how bad it was, but it was bad enough that it couldn't be used until fixed and re-covered.

My sweet Misty-girl, who is now as perfect as a dog can be, completely destroyed a brand-new pair of Uggs boots when I first got her. I had never even worn them. Beautiful burgundy, they were.

Dogs' teeth are formidable!
My current girl dog (as a puppy) actually tried to chew through the WALL when we put her in the kitchen one night, while eating dinner in another room. Yes, she took out a huge chunk of the plaster.
I have had several arm chairs that have had their armrests chewed down to the wood!
I always buy lots and lots of soft toys and chew bones to keep the furniture from not becoming the next temptation.

We had a Samoyed that ate leather. He ruined a pair of new leather books and completely ate a large leather clutch bag except for the lining. He was also fond of socks and panty hose. These items would go right through him whole and I would find them in the yard when I cleaned up.
He also ate the vinyl sheet flooring in the kitchen. He was a handful and had to be watched closely.
I now have Cavaliers, my second set of them...never had anything of value chewed or destroyed, but two of them, one now deceased and one current one liked to eat and destroy tissue and toilet paper. What a mess!

Years ago we got a little pomeranian. He was unbelievable. People said cage him when we were not home to teach him to hold it and get housebroken. He would lift leg and pee out the cage on the floor so I had to put garbage bags around the cage. He chewed corners of furniture and once we had wine in a package up on a bench and he managed to knock the wine on the floor. It broke and was a mess. Once we had a German sheppard and my husband insisted on bringing him in Christmas eve as it was going to freeze. He managed to knock down the tree and open presents. He got into my sons paint kit and smeared paint all over. Dogs can be very destructive however most of my dogs have been very good.
