People often talk to strangers rather than a friend. I have been in situations where while waiting in a doctor's office, a patient will tell me their life's story. 😳

 I too have waited in many hospital environments, not just doctor's offices. It is often me that starts the conversation. Sitting at times for a long period of time, I prefer talking with people that don't have their face buried in a phone or tablet.

For me I never see it as TMI, because most times I learn things I did not know. Some of these people were/are there as often as me, and we both have at least something in common, or we would not meet so often.

Hope you are doing ok,

How are you doing with the Entresto @hckynutjohn ? I took it for a few months and my EF improved greatly. I am hoping the same for you.

My husband claims I have a friendly demeanor so people like talking to me.😄 Yesterday, he accompanied me to the cardiologist and asked me why nobody tells him their life story. A gentleman sitting next to me asked why I was there and went on to share he had 12 stents and was 76. He still jogs every morning.😳 It was an uplifting conversation and enjoyable.

Thinking of you and wishing you the best in getting back on the ice.🙂

Probably a mixture of excitement, boredom, and trying to be friendly. I'd take a storyteller over a crab any day.

Most of the cashiers I run into usually don't even acknowledge me and if I say hello I get a grunt.   It is a hard job, especially in the last few years. I think I'd like this cashier.  I was a cashier for years and always said hello and thank you to my customers.

@JoyFilled Warrior

I was enjoying reading your post till it went off the topic of talking to others, and more about virus and masks.

People talk to me in stores, it makes the mundane grocery shopping something of a social event.. I call it shopping with strangers. When someone confides their personal good news or concerns, as this cashier did, I think of it as a gift. Maybe thats because I'm private, in that I don't share my personal information.
