QVC simply has to code their software to automatically restrict brand new, unique members from posting links until they reach a certain post count. It's SOP at many e-commerce and other sites (including one at which I work).

@DiAnne wrote:I don't have Prime and I have never paid shipping at Amazon. Everything I have purchased falls in the $35 ships free or free shipping from the vendor. It neve seemed like a smart purchase for me.
@DiAnne This is exactly what I do also. If it isn't free shipping, I don't buy it, and would never pay, such as Prime, to shop at a company.

@MaggieMack wrote:I never report posts as inappropriate, but I did report the Amazon spam that appeared in the Pet chat this morning. Five minutes later, it was completely poofed, gone, bye-bye! All the ones I've seen have been by "new" posters. Yeah, like if I was going to spam away here I would use my customary nic???
It's the same sort of spamming that caused the creation of the "new" forums - perhaps even the same people. They've just figured out a way to circumvent new anti-spam software - if there is, indeed, any new anti-spam software. If there is actually nothing different about the forum software to prevent the same old spamming that occurred previously, this was probably just testing the waters and it will keep increasing, even to the level it occurred before.
I suspect QVC will never invest much money in technology that will stop this; they will continually be putting fingers in the dike and deleting after the fact, just like they always did.

Uh ..... spammers or trolls?
I don't think I've ever seen anything "amazon" on here, but even if they are frequently posted here, why would that have any effect on your membership? It's apples and oranges.

Maybe I am missing something. If I look at the thread titles and I don't have an I interest I just ignore those. It doesn't bother me any more than looking at a magazine and only reading articles I want or shopping online and ignoring sites that are of no interest to my needs. I like Prime a lot. I wAtched Parks and Recreation,Sons of Anarchy, and Transparent and with the free book lend and the selection available without driving to find things plus wo day shipping ,I think it's a value I can afford. If my budget changes,I will let it go.

It really is silly to spite yourself over something like this. But have it.

Does anybody actually think that the thread-bombing was started by an actual representative of Amazon?
I really don't think it was. It was just your standard trolling - probably a regular troll of this board who started a new ID for this purpose, would be my guess.
Some people just like to cause trouble. They are socially inept and it's all they feel they have. This gives them what they crave - attention and the verification that they have bothered others. Ignoring them is the best thing one can do. Seriously.
That's my take, anyway, FWIW.
