So Many Channels, So Intrusive

When it became so annoying to shop at QVC, I switched to QVC.com.  Now that is becoming annoying, as well.  So many pop-ups, so may channels other than the one I'm interested in.  It's is difficult for me to figure it all out.   If this is the wave of the future, I may go back to actual stores.  Or stop shopping altogether (except for groceries and wine).

@excpaOr just turn on any channel when you actually want to buy.  I don't watch just to see if there's something I might want.  I probably don't need what I'm looking at if I didn't already have some  idea of what I was looking for.

I used to leave QVC run on mute for hours and tune in if I saw something when I walked past the TV.  But I bought too much in those years, so now I look at what I might want and quit.  I just don't buy nearly as much.

@excpa

Fortunately many have numerous other channels from which to choose. I personally prefer watching only programs I DVR. Why? I only record programs I like and intend to watch.

No guessing/no surprises, and "Vwhalla! I can watch them at my convenience, not a time chosen by channel or network. Leaves me pretty much unable to rightfully complain, hey, I picked 'em !!

I don't get any pop ups. Use adblock or adblock plus.

I rarely get a pop-up. I think the only one I get, infrequently, is the Q card one. I'm on an iPad and Chrome doesn't have an ad blocker, yet I don't get pop-ups "all the time". I wonder why some people get so many.

If you don't set your browsers accordingly and/or add a pop up blocker you will see them.  I don't use IE or Edge for this very reason.  Use Chrome or Firefox.

I used to get a lot of pop up ads....but I changed the setting on my sofware security or  browser settings and now they've stopped.  I also use Chrome or  Firefox browsers........

@excpa

I understand what you saying, if you have a particular vendor that you follow and want to see a live demonstration (sometimes there are no videos, or sometimes the videos dont even work), so now you have to check 2 or perhaps even 3 channel options to find the shows you like.  I thought one channel was so repetitive and now QVC has 3 channels with the same limited number of produts so it makes the experience even more redundant so I seldom watch (nor buy) that much anymore.....QVC's loss, and their revenues reflect that what they are trying isn't working.....

Re: So Many Channels, So Intrusive

I cannot imagine watching Qvc tv like it's 2002; good grief if you do that, you miss out on 90% of what Qvc sells.  I shop almost exclusively on Qvc.com, even when I do see something on tv, I order it on .com.  As for pop ups.   I assume that people who get them need to turn the pop up blocker on, it's their computers and not Qvc.com.  As for the other 2 Qvc channels...huh....they don't just pop up on your tv or computer all by themselves...lol   It's choice, don't want to see them, don't go to them.  I accept that there are older Qvc shoppers who just like the tv/call customer service to order format and that's also an option if that's their comfort level.  Perhaps I'm missing something here but I don't get what's intrusive about something you choose to engage in.

Hi "sunshine" Woman Wink technically it's not the computer, it's the browser settings .lol and could even be on a person's security software that they need to click a setting to enable it.(in my security its called anti-banner and private browsing)......

Same here, @millieshops. Now, I always ask myself, "do I want, or do I need." That really cuts down on buying.
