So Bored ...

Stuck home babysitting my daughter's elderly dog. Our small town is so quiet and boring. Everyone has gone away. Can't even go anywhere. Been watching Gilmore Girls but even that's boring. They are showing the "Year In The Life" which is absolutely horrible. Nothing on TV but repeats.

@just bee, I live in a tiny beach town in SoCal. So needless to say, there is nothing quiet about July 4th here. In fact, we started hearing those "darn" fireworks around noon already. Bunch of idiots.

Thank you for sharing your time with the elderly dog. They have earned a lot of compassion and comfort for all the years of companionship they have provided.

They've been setting them off for the past few days here in Albuquerque. Day and night. Last night they were setting them off during a thunderstorm!

Didn't stop 'til 1:00 and the neighbor's dog was outside suffering through all of it.

We took our dog to the park earlier and were playing Yahtzee under a tree when they started going off again. Had to wrap it up and get the dog home.

The "professional" displays will start in a few hours...

So "quiet and boring" would be delightful.

I know what it feels like to be elderly .. just wish my daughter would be a little more compassionate toward me. I have not been feeling well since March. Been seeing all kinds of doctors trying to find out what my issues are. I had to go see a cardiologist but they sent me to the wrong office. When he told me that I started to cry. He felt bad so he had to have the appt rescheduled for me at another office but did go ahead and do blood tests and an EKG and set me up for some other test so the doctor I need to see will have the results when I go see him. It's very difficult to care for an elderly animal when one does not feel well themselves.

@bcherry01 Sorry you are feeling bored or maybe lonely. I'm feeling kinda lonely today. I agee with others that you can watch A Capitol 4th or Macy's fireworks. Or, there is Yankee Doodle Dandy on TBS. If you have Alexa, you can play patriotic music. But, also, you have come to these forums, so that is something. My children are not here either, and that is kind of lonely too. They are with their families hours away and in other states having parties. I sure do wish I were with them. I've been working on a family cookbook that keeps me busy, but it's not the same as being with them.
