It's a little late in the season but still very beautiful.  The first thing that comes to mind when I visit Colorado is it is God's country.  With the Rocky Mountains this state is so beautiful.

Just recently there were a couple of 'best-places-to-live' reports put out that listed two Colorado cities in the top ten. My city, Colorado Springs, ranked #2 on both lists. Boulder ranked at #4.

@SilleeMee    Seems like Ft. Collins is often on those "best" lists.  I heard of one just last week.  Can't remember what they were the best of.

Yes, I've heard a lot about FC recently, too. That city is growing really fast.

Another city which has become popular in recent times is Pueblo, particularly Pueblo West. Big retirement communities there and very attractive family housing opportunities. Pueblo West is rapidly growing partly due to the over-flow of buyers from northern parts of Colorado where housing is scarce and too expensive for most buyers.

Interesting enough is that even though CO is a very large state, only about 50% of it is marketable. The rest of the state is owned by one branch or another of the government.

@SilleeMee    Yes, my friend, Hope, who directs Rocky Mt. Collie/Sheltie Rescue lives in Pueblo West.  Her son is a CC grad.  I've adopted two dogs from them and she is an acclaimed rescuerer.

You’re right about had this not been heavy wet snow and light fluffy instead, we’d (here) easily have at least 4 ft instead of 2 ft.

Of course the snow blower is of no use with this kind of snow and neither is my husband.

I’m thinking of moving to Florida and getting myself a pool boy.

@Malcontent Oh heck, get TWO pool boys!  Woman Wink

I think we are getting the rain version of your snow storm.  torential rain and lots of run off.   Our creek is getting overwhelmed and hopefully won't cover the drive way too much (or wash it out more).  We would be in a snow storm in SC if the temp was lower.   We are planning to put in a bigger pipe under the drive way this year because of the dumping type of rain we are having more often.  @SilleeMee we are getting a lot of limbs and trees down too.  At least these are in the woods around us, the fenced yard and some in the drive way.  I bought a battery powered chain saw this year (small enough for me to handle) because the regular chain saw is too heavy and I can't pull the start cord either.   At least I can try to attack a lot of the limbs now.

@Jk9

That's great you got a little chain saw. My friend has one and he said it really comes in handy. In fact, he'll be coming over to help me remove my fallen tree limbs later.  Some of the limbs are way too big so he will be using his big chain saw on those.

@SilleeMee  The smaller chain saw has really made a difference here.  It's a surprisingly tough little machine.  Those limbs are a big problem and some require the big saw.  Good that your friend is available.

After most of this month of May being in the upper 90's here in Texas yesterday of 72º weather was amazing.  Today 81º but at least not the stuff we usually do not get until into June.  Must be cooling down all over the country this week.
