Amazing the difference the smoke/fire made in the difference of the two photos.  Stay safe; hope no animals, people, homes have not been destroyed.

I'm in Colorado and the smoke has been thick all day.  Looked like dusk the entire day b/c the smoke obscured the sun so badly that it made the sky dark.

@SilleeMee    Like us in Albuquerque, you're probably getting smoke from the California fires.  It's becoming an annual occasion.

With all of the recent fires lately, I found a 'smoke' map which shows where the plumes (and fires, too) are located and how thick they are. I like to look at that kind of stuff., It's interesting to me.

What's interesting to me is that smoke travels all the way across the country to the east coast. A few years ago during CA wildfires the smoke traveled and caused a haze here in SE MD.  No where near as thick as what you all experience, but it was definitely hazy.

We are burning up in California. Temperature wise and fires popping up throughout the state. 

The one that is closest to me is over 10,000 acres. I was driving home from work this evening and looking to the hills and mountains and it's massive. 

The good news is that we are expecting rain this weekend. Fingers crossed that the Meteorologists are right. Not only for the cooler temperatures but to help the fire fighters.

@icezeus  Every year CA burns thousands of acres. I can't imagine how there's any land left!
