Funny how some will stick around for decades while others come and go...
Some I like and miss...who remembers 'swell' and 'marvelous'? Others leave much to be desired. Old vintage movies help bring back memories of many. Another one I liked was 'cool'...used it for decades and still do from time to time. I use 'awesome' far too much...a hard habit to break.
I'm glad 'far-out' didn't stick around too long...60's/early 70's...LOL.
How about you? ![]()

I still use "wicked" and "wicked pissah". Those in the know, know.
"Cool" is ok but anybody who uses "groovy" is still wandering around looking for the '60s - as in "Hey man, where are the '60s?" LOL

I still say 'cool'. I always liked that one.
For some unknown reason (honestly, I don't even know - I guess it's just the sound of the word as there are numerous words I don't like for, assumably, the same reason) I never liked the word 'groovy'. Never used that one.
I also like some of the British words a lot and many Yiddish words. Both of those have some really cool words. ![]()

Is that you, Cakers?
People who said "groovy" in the 60s were pretentious. If they still say it now...and mean it, I'd figure they'd wandered away from their caretaker.
Cool still works, used sparingly.
I went through my "wicked" phase when I was 15. I loved that word!

Cool, I still use with family/friends. Never liked the term "Hot" as in when someone admires the physical form of the opposite secs. I still hear lovely, I will say "he's fine."
I'm sure there will be more I remember and I'll add. Fun thread.....

@x Hedge Yes. Somewhere on this Twilight Zone of a forum I discussed my nic issue.
Who are you?

@Susan Louise We still use "cool" but more often pronounced "ceuel," in a sort of a sarcastic vein. Cannot stand "awesome!" Let me explain: Here is the report I proofread for you.. Awesome! No, the Grand Canyon is awesome.

Hi Cakers ( @Cakers3 )
I'm Hedge, trying to be @x Hedge.
The name feels right but all wrong. Sort of feels like wearing my own shoes, but on the wrong feet.

@PA Mom-mom I remember seeing that awhile back. I'll probably use 'awesome' the rest of my life...works for me. ![]()
