I enjoyed his performances. I imagine the competition is pretty cut throat to get to the Olympics.

My friend is jealous? He has won many competitions around the United States since he was 12 years old. He knows many of the skaters in the top tier of figure skating in the United States, and Chen is the only 1 he mentioned to me negatively.

"Mean spirited"? Guess you haven't read any of my posts since you registered in 2010. I make no bones about what I have to say. I call it "telling it like I see it", in this case how I heard it.

Assuming you do not know Chen personally, nor do I? I don't remember calling him names or being a critic of his skating abilities, so where do you see my repeating my friend as "mean spirited"?

If you want to stick with your comment I will go with, do I care?

If I had a complaint about someone I had shared the ice with for years, I would not take it to a friend who then took it to a friend" who then "shared" it with a reporter from network or paper that paid good money.

Nor would I share it with any who were insulted by not having his friendship for whatever reason.

Good friendship can only be returned with those who are also good friends and not just disappointed in their own accomplishments, so have to broadcast complaints about others.

He's popular here in the U.S., but outside the U.S. he's very much disliked. I don't know why. On twitter I was shocked how many people disliked him. The loved that Japanese skater that finished 2nd. That guy is huge in Asia. After Chen won the gold, people were saying they no longer would watch figure skating and the it was rigged.

@PuppyLoverBob666 John has many positive things to say. Calling him names and making nasty comments is making you look bad. Difference of opinions are allowed on these forums and they are posted all the time. I'll stop here as you haven't been on these boards for very long and maybe have not seen much.
