Every year I have a food allergy test done because it changes. My doctor told me that its very important that anyone with food allergies that they vary food choices. If we eat the same thing over and over, we develop food allergies, especially when we get older, in the 55+ age range.

Every year I test I am consistently allergic to milk and all milk derivatives. I can tell when I consume any kind of milk product because my sinuses will stuff up, even though I drink a lot of water.

Pure water is something you might consider drinking too. Lots of it throughout the day in order to keep your sinuses hydrated.

If you eat fruit, which is good for you by the way, you should eat only a cup of it and twice a day, at least an hour before or an hour after you consume a meal and its imperative you vary your fruit choices every day. Try to stick to berries, apples, oranges, grapefruits as they are lower in sugar and the melons or bananas should only be eaten once a week as they are high in sugar.

Thanks for posting about this item. I read the reviews and even though some had problems with it, most were positive. I'll pick one up tomorrow. The company seems to be reasonable about returns and replacements. I hope we both have units that won't conk out after a short time.

It is very gentle, too...

Sometimes one of those Vick's inhalers (lipstick size, that you inhale) work, too. Worth a try. I have a drugstore brand that clears my nose whenever I happen to need it.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

Benadryl sounds good and the added sedative effect is also a plus!

Your ENT SHOULD know this. Even if someone else is going through this, someone else is not you. You should be telling your doctor and/or your ENT what is going on and let the health care professionals who know you and your health history offer you help.

I continue to believe that posting personal health care questions on ANY message board is foolish at best and dangerous at worst. {#emotions_dlg.thumbdown}

Taking Benadryl and sleep medications, as well as all the other stuff she takes might not be such a good idea

I don't have sinus problems but taking Benadryl along with sleep meds is okay. My pain doctor prescribes Ambien for me along with different pain meds and he said it is fine to take Benadryl when I wake up after few hours of sleep. It works great.
