You could try using a saline spray. It's over the counter and not addictive. It cleans out the irritants that might be in your nose.

Rainbows, what we eat makes a big difference in how we feel. Even short term. I eat very simple food when I prepare breakfast or lunch for myself. Dinner for two of us is more preparation, but most dinners are pretty simple too.
I also don't know if you have any special instructions from your dr. regarding your food plan. But, if not, you could fix a very simple breakfast of a couple scrambled eggs. For lunch, in place of high sugar fruit you could switch to veggies. Either a salad with a little oil & vinegar, or even easy stir fried (or steamed) veggies. Unlimited combinations so you would not get bored. Zucchini, spinach, green pepper, sweet onion, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, just to name a few.
Feel better soon!

Me too. I go through as many boxes of tissues in the summer as I do in the winter during cold and flu season.

Sudafed (sp) works very well for me.

Have you tried using a neti pot? My ENT suggested one, and it has made a huge difference for me.

I'm surprised that your doc didn't suggest a straight allergy OTC such as Benadryl (I use 1/4 of a tablet of the store-brand version.) Just 1/4 of a tablet, when needed. You might call your doc and ask if it's o.k. or call your pharmacist, telling him of all of the meds you are taking. Make sure it's the straight allergy type, not the ones with all of the added cold/flu/whatever ingredients.

Also, 'an apple a day' is probably better.........just sayin'.............Too much of anything could be a problem.

Dairy and wheat are major culprits.
I gave up both and my sinuses are very happy about it.
If I cheat they let me know.
