And thanks for the memories of Elizabethton, Erwin, all the surrounding area. My first husband (we're still great friends!) was getting his master's degree in JC and we had the most wonderful experiences living in that area. Warm, welcoming people, gloriously lovely countryside. I think many who've never seen eastern Tennessee are surprised to see the beauty.

People that think we're backwards from up there don't have a clue as to the beauty and history of East Tennessee and how wonderful people are- friendly, helpful, you name it.

So happy you have such wonderful memories- it's experiences one will never forget! {#emotions_dlg.wub}

Hi, Peachysue!

I used to go to the covered bridge in Elizabethton when we lived in Johnson City. We went there all the time, took a picnic and fed the ducks and geese. What a beautiful place that is.

Great thread, and the gorgeous images are exactly what we see in Virginia and East Tennessee every autumn. I'm always reminded the lovely many-colored quilts my grandmother and great-grandmother used to make when autumn paints the trees with beauty.

O/T, I want to add, although I don't know if it will get lost in the mix ...

To Peachysue, bluegrassbaby, Scottie, and any others who enjoy posing pix:

My comments about photos and GIFs on the recent thread and on past threads always were about the ones that start showing up in the middle of an otherwise serious or interesting discussion, not the ones in threads devoted to pix and fun. And I never have singled out a poster -- I have a problem with the images disrupting a conversation, never a particular person. I hope I didn't offend anyone and if I did I offer my sincere apology. The written word can be so limiting and sometimes misleading.

I hate it when I think I've hurt someone's feelings.{#emotions_dlg.sad}

Sorry for the O/T. Have a beautiful evening, everyone!

Didn't hurt my feelings DooB. I don't have a problem with someone's opinion respectfully stated without scolding. My objection on that thread was the scolding ones. There were 2 and they were the first ones on the subject. Smile

And since it was BGB's thread and we are friendly with her I felt the pictures were fine. But I don't have a problem with anyone stating otherwise, respectfully, like you did.
