I made a serious suicide attempt while taking for two months---that was a couple of decades ago---wouldn't take it again---there are way better antidepressants out there

Oh, (((sylviahomeatlast))). I wasn't going to post on this thread, until I saw your comment. I've been there, too. I'm sorry you had that experience. Many antidepressants can have this effect, but not always and not for every person. This is one reason we need to rely on our personal physicians and pharmacists for advice, rather than reading Internet websites.

People I know who've taken it have lost weight but I understand that is not always the case. Just make sure you and your doctor monitor things closely.

thank you dooBdoo for the kind words---I'm mentally healthy now but, if you know sometimes we have to pass through very times to reach serenity--physical health is the same---------------((((((((((((((((((((dooBdoo)))))))))))))))))))

some people suffer a loss of appetite when they're severely depressed and will gain weight once they start taking antidepressants because eating becomes enjoyable again.

Sometimes you have to decide if the benefit outweighs the other side effects.

Didn't you say you thought the steroid you were on caused weight gain too? Maybe the combination made it worse.
