UPDATE:
I just got back from Buffalo Picture Frame. The frame is too thin for a beveled mirror. The regular mirror, backing and hanging hardware will be $15 total.
The man who owns this store pulled some small nails out of the frame and said they were square handmade nails. He said the frame is from the late 1800's. It is oak and the carved oak leaves and acorns are hand carved too. He gave me several of the nails and kept some in the frame. I asked him why he did that, and he said in case I ever want to sell it, the construction and the nails will help pinpoint it's age.
I got it at an estate sale (up in an attic again!) for less than $5! It will be about $20 in all...a real deal.
Estate sale fans...ALWAYS go to the back of the attics!
