@jubilant I enjoyed your post.  I like it when other's here 'talk' about their experiences and what they like and/or dislike.

I've said so many times I've learned so much from everyone here.

As far as the Charleston, I've never been able to do that one.  My late Mother could do an amazing Charleston.  She tried to teach me, but I just couldn't do it like she did.  It's not an easy dance to do it right!  Don't you agree?

Now the mashed potatoes are just like that (swishing and moving the feet back and forth).  Did you ever do the stroll?  That's the one where two sides line up and one person or a couple dance down the center.  That's more tame.

The twist really gets things going and is a good way to loose weight.  I always laugh and say, "Once I get all of this chub moving and twisting......well...it takes a few seconds for all of it to catch up the way it's supposed to be".

Then there's the locomotion that's like and engine (the wheels) to a locomotion train, with the arms and legs going (still rather tame).

The swim is just like it sounds.  Never cared for the pony...kinda dumb looking.

I can do a few of the new dances but don't care for them much.  As far as twerking well, there is no way in XXXX I'll be doing that!  Don't like it and the last thing I need to do is stick this big fanny out.

Yes, the Charleston is a real challenge.  I can't do it either...but I tried it a few times.  Guess, back then, I didn't think it was so "cool".  Now, I wished I had asked Grandma to teach me. Yep, did the stroll, too.  It seems like everyone had their own version of that one.  And the Pony bounces my bladder up and down.  That's not good...trust me!  I think that one has to come off my list.  LOL.  I can do the Twist pretty good.  Remember "The Freddie".  Now that one looked really dumb.  I like the "Swim", too.  That one seemed to be popular on all the teen beach shows on TV.  I always wanted to learn ball room dancing but DH wasn't interested.  About the only thing he will do is "The Chicken"  at weddings. Once in a while I like to watch trainers on you tube teach all these dances.  DH and I get a big kick out of the "Rock- a -billy" contests on youtube.  I've never seen feet move so fast.
