Just thought I'd mention this since I never thought about it before. I've always had dogs, 4 at one time, but none have lived past 14.

My present dog will be 16. She can't hear and it's hard to communicate with her. She does know the hand sign "no more" since she is a foodie. I wish I had taught her some sign language when she was a pup. It would be so much easier now for her.

My granddaughter learned sign as a baby before she could speak and it was so easy for my daughter to know what she wanted. If I had a new pup I would certainly teach some type of hand language.

Just a thought to those who have young dogs or even adult dogs.
