I don't get it , some days after I sign in, I'm good for the day, today each time I come back I have to sign in, which is annoying. Is it the individual mods decision ??

I think it depends on how long you are away ... no activity. Always been that way for me and I just figured that's the reason.
Probably more complicated than that, but I don't think the mods have anything to do with it. They seem to be busy enough. LOL

Because the password for here and for our accounts is the same, I'm okay with signing in each time. I'd give up coming here if they kept us signed in all the time. I'm just too nervous about hackers.

I agree with Preds, there seems to be an inactivity time out of around two hours +/-. Even if you don't post simply refreshing a page seems to reset the timer.

I've always found that as long as I have at least one window of a given browser (e.g. Chrome, IE, etc) OPEN, then I can come here again, after having signed in, and am still signed in.
If I close all of the windows of that browser, and then open one up again to come here, I'm logged out.
I wonder if different browsers make the difference, or what.

I have to do it every single time, whether I'm gone 5 minutes or 5 hours.

I've wondered this too! I find the same thing as indoor kitty. Some days, like today, I can log in once in the morning and stay logged in all day, no matter how long I'm gone. Other days, I can close the browser, turn around immediately and open it up to come here and I have to log in again.
I also find that most of the time I stay logged in longer on my iPad than my phone.

Much of this is device-specific or browser-specific. For example, if your browser settings/preferences are set to delete cookies when you close it... you'll have to sign in again after you relaunch the browser. On an iPad or iPhone, if you close the Safari (or other browser) running in background or if you've enabled the Background App Refresh you're going to find yourself signing in more often. I've also noticed some of the frequent software "tweaks" on this website cause us to be logged out more often than usual. Websites normally have a default time-out set for all who are signed in, and I'm guessing that might be altered from time to time. So... this is a frequent topic because we don't all have the same experience and it will vary depending on our specific device, software versions (it's important to keep the software updated), settings, and what might be happening on this testy website.

Every single time I log out my siggy vanishes! POOF!
I wish I could nail it down, it gets old re-entering it all the time. (pout)

Are you remembering to press save after you enter your siggy?
