It is frustrating when so much is happening in the world today.

I got involved in a political forum on another site, and it evolved into name calling, totally off-topic craziness.

There were a few posters who made some really great comments

that were thoughtful, and many had views different from my own.

But I believe the QVC forums are somewhat like a large family Thanksgiving with family members with very different view points.  Ultimately, to keep the peace, we are reduced to small talk.

It often seems that: We are a bunch of ants on a log, arguing with and attacking one another, drifting down a river...........    ......... I wonder if QVC has looked at the effects of routinely taking down so many discussions?   Many, many posters have left the board because of the heavy handed policy.

Their board, but also their loss of good will and sales.

I agree with their policy on removing troublemakers, but not with reducing subject discussions to pap.

I have said this several times:  I do not watch QVC.  Everything I purchase (and my spending is down by lots of $$$ here only) is due to reading this board.  I hope QVC understands how valuable these boards are.  These boards are not what they used to be and I am not here like I used to be either.  Not here = not much $$ spent here.  I understand the mods are only doing their jobs. My posts have been poofed and I have absolutely no idea why.  Q's boards, Q's rules.  My choice not to spend my money here. If they did a decent analysis, they may get that and fix the issues here.

I rarely ever post on the forums anymore because the moderation is so heavy-handed and frequently makes little sense.  I also rarely ever purchase from QVC anymore most likely because it's not on my radar as much because I'm not on the boards much.  Great job, mods!  And I want to add an emoji, but the emojies here are AWFUL.

A post of mine was removed yesterday for being "argumentative", and I just laughed and laughed.  All I did was disagree with a poster about an interpretation about something in the news (and no, it wasn't political).

And then I see people disagree here all the time, back and forth, up and down, on an on, ad nauseum, and the posts remain.

So I figured the poster I disagreed with reported my post and that's why it got the axe.

Doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things, of course, but just shows that you can't really expect "even"or "fair" moderation on this board.  It's just a ****** shoot.

That's exactly right.  There are either moderators that are very biased or just kinda clueless as to how to moderate a forum.

I posted a lovely thread about "The Train" and the mods poofed it, said it was religious.  I removed the word they considered religious and posted it again.   What did the mods do?  Poofed it, said it was a repeat of an old thread.  Can't win.

Re: Shuting down threads

I don't really understand the angst, to be frankst.   (groan) 😜   We know threads and posts here aren't guaranteed to remain for posterity, so why not relax, post what we want (trying to stay within the standards and guidelines) and then move forward to the next post or thread?   Holding grudges about anything, whether it's past scuffles with people or it's threads/posts that were deleted/closed, isn't particularly healthy and in my experience isn't useful.    Grudges are just wasteful weight we lug around on our shoulders and our souls.

Honestly, I think these endless complaint threads don't bode well for the future of the QVC forums and it's possible by continuing to second-guess and insult the moderators and the PTB who give them their marching orders...  we might see the forums follow the trend on other sites:

forums are being closed, completely, and the companies that managed them are sending their posters to other social media sites like Facebook.

Certainly we have the option to complain and to air our grievances here, but I haven't seen any changes as a result of them and I do think instead of this imperfect Q Community we might end up with no Q Community to post on in the future.
