We can not have discussions about the things that are happening in our world ,without some one deciding they want to say things that gets it shut down.

You'd have to go elsewhere to discuss those topics.  Even the soap opera thread is monitored as if they think we are talking about real people.

I wonder where you can go to talk about current events online.

@AuntG

That's not what she's talking about... I don't think.

I think she's talking about when the subject is OK and working but someone or someones cross the line and get it taken down.

"Crossing the Line" seems to be a moving target.

So many times people just porpoisely say things to shut down ,do we have to argue over everything?

Great question. But it's kinda like Facebook. Some struggle with having civil conversations when someone doesn't think as they do. (it would be nice if we could attack ideas, not people) Once people begin attacking one another, then fireworks begin. Nightmare for moderators, no doubt. (Kudos to humans who express -- I respectfully disagree, but honor your right to your perspectives. I'll try to learn from you.) When quality conversations can take place, then we'll have more forums allowing expression.

I think the Meghan Markle thread going on right now is a good example.

Some people are having a blast discussing what she wore at the Invictus Games.

Other people JUST CAN'T STAND THIS.  Accusations about being out of touch old ladies appear regularly.

Nobody reacts, so the thread has lasted the length of the games.
