Was just watching Piers Morgan after they replayed the Presidents speech at tonight's vigil. One of the guests made a comment about how great it would have been if the teachers had been armed and could have taken the shooter out before he killed so many. Another guest countered that during the shooting outside the Empire State Building, most of the people who were shot were hit by stray bullets fired from the police. If the police, who are trained and certified yearly (at least in Arizona) cannot always hit a target, what is the likelihood that a teacher will be able to hit the mark in a situation similar to the one in Connecticut? Do we need to add weapons training to our teachers qualifications? What do you think of that idea?
