@occasionalrain Yes, indeed.  Two were very wealthy and influential in the entire community!!!  So I wouldn't go there if I were you. Cat Mad

What does that prove? @kindred cats  You have no idea what went through the mind of the victims.

Lucky for their abusers they did not act out violently.

You also don’t know when the abuse started and how long it went on. All this matters.

NO, they were grown men and they killed their parents and went on a shopping spree!  If anyone should be released it should be women who endured years of abuse and killed their husbands/boyfriends!  the Menendez brothers commited first degree murder!

@sheetsheba

Well, women who endured years of abuse and then killed their partners were also adults who committed first degree murder.  There is no difference.

Actually ....  the boys endured years of abuse (as children) ... BEFORE they hit legal age.

I would assume a woman was already of legal age before she married her abuser.  She stayed, and then killed her abuser, as an adult.

All this talk about why didn't they leave. Why not ask the same question of grownups.

Why didn't Nicole Brown Simpson leave OJ after all the years of domestic violence?

Back then, some police even went so far as to say you must have done something to upset him, so just be nicer to your husband!

Unfortunately, police have been known to dismiss complaints against wealthy powerful men.

NONE of us know exactly how we might react when repeatedly raped and victimized.   To assume they were lying because they didn't move out is just more of blaming the victim, which is all too common.

Just like the recent "Me, Too!" movement .....  People need to stop comparing today's attitudes to 1989 when the murders occurred.

@KKJ  The same reason the boys abused by priests waited years to come forward.

Authority figures wield enormous power over vulnerable young boys.   WHY is this so hard for some to understand?

You are not making any sense to me.  Sounds like rubbish and unrelated to my post.   That is, if it was supposed to be related. Cat Indifferent

They were abused before they were teens.  The youngest one was very young.  When he finally said to his father to stop or he would say something he father through him against the wall and threaten him.  If I were that young and my father did that I would be very scared.

After giving my feelings due consideration, I have decided that I am afraid of them.

Just by looking at them on tv, alarms are going off for me.

So, no, I don't think they should be let out.

Good God NO! They are viscious psychotics! Just look at the sick hideous grin on that bald one. What they did was absolutely unthinkable, and that "abuse" story is just total B.S. for their pathetic defense.
