"Too many" impacting what exactly? I need people to expand their thought otherwise i am not unstanderstanding why its too much.

If you travel any distance for the holiday, you pretty much need to leave the day before.

I understand needing to leave before on any given holiday if traveling. 

 

However, I thought the OP meant should it be an official holiday to which I answered no.

@proudlyfromNJ Teacher's meeting days or national test days.  We had them in the 1960's.  If you were at the top of the class, you didn't have to take the best battery.  Always wondered if teacher's REALLY did "meet."  They were always on Fridays.

I made sure I got the day before thanksgiving off when I worked, so that was my "thanksgiving eve". Just trendy wording for the day before  a holiday--like Thursday being Friday Eve.
