Re: Should Thanksgiving Eve Be Another Holiday?

There is a great book (mystery) whose title I can not recall. Anyway the little girl calls it the "Macy's Day Parade'.

Schools in my town have had all week off.  Frankly kids need all the education they can get during the school year....1 week of a fall break to me is not necessary.

Id be interested in those who answered "no" wouldve stated if they work a full time job outside of the home or not.

I work full time.

Those opinions are the only ones that count to me in this case.

Why other people care, other than than its inconvenient for them to have an office closed half a day, well sorry to inconvenience you.

All the "back in my day Wednesday was a normal day" statements....sorry...more women work outside of the home...times are different.  Even if that wasnt a factor Just because that is how it was doesnt mean that is how it has to be.

kinda like "I walked 4 miles in the snow to school every day"  kind of thing.  No need to now.

You know how it is for some. If they didn't have it, neither should you.

Re: Should Thanksgiving Eve Be Another Holiday?

It has already happened where I live.  I'm 63 and the day before Thanksgiving has always been the beginning of Thanksgiving weekend.  As long as I can remember.  Schools get out at noon, municipal offices have skeleton staff or are closed, many private businesses let employees go early.  Of course, many people use a personal or vacation day.
