I order everything online now. My groceries are delivered by Instacart 2-3 times each month and I've been very pleased. Retail in our town was moribund before the pandemic and now it's just about gone. I've found some great new mysteries on Ovation and there's TCM for my old movie favorites. I read a great deal too In other words, I've made peace with my situation. My husband has Alzheimer's and compared to what the illness is doing to him, quarantine is just a small inconvenience.

"Is now a huge hassle" ??
Shopping by me is 10x better than it was at the beginning of the "hoax"
I have a picture of the freezer, TP and bread sections of my Trader Joe's in March - 100% wiped out. Waiting 20 minutes to get into a store was normal.
The pandemic has caused many problems, including 170k US deaths (and counting), lingering health issues and financial problems on every level. A problem is when your kid is sick. Not finding gym shoes isn't.
I try to stay positive - my family is healthy. But I want my old life back.

I went in Kohls last weekend, because dh had ordered some clothes and they didn't fit. The store did seem well stocked, but we didn't spend much time in there.
I order my groceries on line from Wal Mart or Kroger, and that was going well, but lately its not so great. The last time I ordered chicken from Kroger, it just smelled terrible, so I threw it away.
There is a small Harps that is close and I may start going there for meat. I will have to go in, but I will go in the morning before it gets real busy.

@Mominohio , I know I complained about the same thing weeks ago and was met with a lot of "shelves are full here. It's not like that here, etc." I'm guessing it must be the area.
I was out and about just fun shopping because I needed birthday gifts. I went into Marshalls and was shocked at how empty it was. What was in the clothing dept. very obviously left over from last fall and winter. It didn't appear they even got a lot of spring/summer in. The shoe dept. was a major disappointment and again, lots of stuff left over. There were virtually no cosmetics or beauty items. Even the home section was nothing to write home about. I did find a few clearance items and the line wrapped around into the men's dept.
Kohls in my area is a disaster. Hardly any registers open and not a lot of merchandise either. Major disappointment.
My friend's daughter works at Old Navy and she said they aren't getting shipments of things in like they should have. 4th of July t-shirts and apparel didn't arrive until after the holiday.
The line to get into Bath & Bodyworks was all the way up the sidewalk because the store is rather small and you are only allowed so many people inside. World Market had a line of people waiting to get in when I walked out. I wanted to go out to an outlet mall this weekend just to walk around but I'm not sure it's even going to be worth the hour + drive.
I have not gone into places because of the whole mask thing. It just turns into too much of a hassle so I end up skipping it altogether.

Who knew absolutely no venting was allowed here. I drove to pickup groceries yesterday at Walmart and their garden gates are closed so you can only go through the front doors. I saw all the plants and succulents and said a bad word because I so badly wanted to go in and grab some succulents. I'm not walking through the whole store to go to the garden section. I may go to the nursery today. I'm sick to death of doing nothing at all that I want to do. And Anyone who thinks they get to tell me to do better. I've truly gone nowhere but to the pharmacy to get cards for birthdays and do pickups for groceries and the vet and sat in the parking lot for months now. My daily walks are a godsend right now as are my husband and my puppies.
This is one of those things, among many, that doesn't make any sense to me. Home Depot and Lowes in my area are the same way. You can only go in one set of doors in the store and you have to walk through the entire store to get to the garden area, thus being around more people than you need to be around. Why not just let people walk directly into the garden area? It's less exposure.

super challenging here where I live as there is only ONE grocery store and dollar general. I have had better success at dollar general than even amazon and walmart.com....make the most of what I have and am grateful that I am not homeless or hungry. I have learned investing is a good mask not the disposable ones, is a big difference! I can now tolerate wearing one, please spend the extra well worth it! I see now the mask I am wearing is a gift of respect and kindness to others. And as far as finding product, the worse is the Clorax wipes, which I cleaned my place like covid even before covid lol....now I make my own and they are great! life gives you lemons....make your own! ![]()

@Mominohio I can't imagine that all of us aren't grateful for what we have and are able to find... I can't imagine that those who have so far avoided this virus aren't thrilled to have done so... I can't imagine there are any of us who don't hope that 'someday' things will get better... I can't imagine that most of us aren't counting our blessings... But I have to tell you, I agree with your assessment about the world outside our front doors and am fully tired of the whole 'stiff upper lip' mantra... If you want to rant about how rotten this situation is and has been now for far too long with no end in sight, I say have at it...

I'm in my mid-sixties and my face is breaking out on my cheeks and chin from wearing the paper masks. I am trying the cotton oness (like T shirt fabric) and they are so much better. My daughter wore them in Florida and said they were alot better.
I am lucky though...I don't need clothes, but finding certain brands of groceries is a challege. I try to buy brands we like, but sometimes that isn't possible....
@Nataliesgramma , I too get breakouts from masks. Doesn't matter what kind of mask or if I wear or don't wear make-up. Yesterday I was watching something on tv and they referred to it as "maskne." The break-outs from masks. I hadn't heard the term before.

My sister and her hubby went grocery shopping in Tulsa. Saw a fellow take off his mask and sneezed, then put mask back on.

Yes, the pandemic has inconvienced us. I'm from N Jersey and hit hard; I've lost friends and family so minor inconviences have little significance. NJ has some of the tightest restrictions and shortages but for me, I'm encouraged by our numbers and the responsible decisions made by the Governor. Many are unhappy about gyms and indoor dining....you can live without either....our malls are open and busier than they were before the pandemic. My biggest loss is the Genius Bar at Apple....I can live without that too....I have Covid fatigue like everyone else.... I've not seen my family since March, that's my biggest loss.
