Not sure where to put this.

I decided to check my recent granola bars.  I want to get them inside once they arrive or alert a neighbor.  They are traveling all over back and forth several times to the same place, glad it is only granola bars.  UPS has them and I am sure the USPS will deliver.  I just do not understand.

@Neetgal2 - Are you talking about the Cooper Street bars?  I was literally just talking to my DH about my order of these.

They arrived at a UPS facility two days ago in a neighboring state and apparently haven't moved since.  (I could drive there in about 3 hours!)

In early July I had ordered some Andrew Lessman vitamins that never made it out of Middletown, PA.

Who knows what's going on with these carriers lately?

@Kachina624 - I've definitely had UPS hand off food to USPS.  Once I actually went to our local post office, when I realized they had a My Grandma's coffee cake and it wasn't going to be delivered that day.

I told the woman at the counter what it was and she searched it out for me.  She agreed it wouldn't have been a good idea for it to sit another 24 hours.  (It was pineapple coconut, so moist!)

There have been other occasions, too,  I've never had anything shipped with dry ice handed off, though.

ETA:  Oddly enough, I had just said to my DH about my Cooper Street bars  "And they'll probably hand it to the post office and delay it another day."

Yes they are the Cooper Street bars, but mine are moving from one state to another and then back to same state.

I had that with an eBay USPS order last week that was shipped all around the country before finally arriving almost 2 weeks after buying.

Thankfully it was a shirt not food.

As long as the package arrives in new condition, I don't worry about what service delivers @Kachina624 .   I do believe UPS or Fed Ex is faster than USPS though.

@Neetgal2 - I wonder if our orders are being affected by all the terrible storms happening around the country.

A lot depends on how they were shipped. Every carrier hires third parties to move packages/mail when the company mails by the lowest priority option.

Those third parties aren't making a trip if it isn't profitable so packages can go to out of the way places or back and forth. 

Blame it on the company that shipped it, not UPS or USPS.

Result of three major corporate shifts - UPS rejected Azn contract terms and now only handles returns and long haul regional dumps to USPS Distribution Ctrs..  Azn turned to USPS to negotiate last mi delivery (literally pennies on the ship dollar). I live rural w/only 1st/3rd class delivery, pkg pickup at USPS . Stopped yesterday for pkg pickups and counter clerk told me UPS used to drop 2-3 pallets each morning.  This past week 9600pkgs dumped off. QVC contract pkg handler ships UPS Ground Saver rebrand of SurePost.

QVC now utilizes its Extended Assortment Program to drop-ship a significant portion of orders directly from third-party vendors via economical, contract-only shipping options, bypassing their own warehouses. This pipeline heavily relies on UPS Ground Saver, a rebranded economy service that locks out customer-paid upgrades and offloads packages onto an understaffed USPS for the expensive last-mile delivery. By shifting inventory, warehousing, and transportation burdens to suppliers and the USPS, corporations maximize their internal cost savings while forcing extended, multi-week delivery delays and manual pickups onto the end consumer.
