I know, how ridiculous is that? It kills me why the shipping isn't calculated by the weight of the item.

It seems like it should be one price for both pairs of socks. But it is not just the shipping cost but shipping and handling. They are paying employees to package the items and process them for shipping. I was going to order one item from Kohl's. It could not be picked up in the store and the cost of S&H was $8.95. So I took it out of my cart.

Yeaaahhhh I've been backing out of my orders in my cart because of that individual shipping charges. Especially since I have been noticing that if I order multiple items they have been coming in one box/bag. Charge me one shipping fee then. It's no longer being nickled and dimed to death it's $3 to $10 or more bucks to death lol. Nope I'm done ordering for a while. Between the rise in prices and shipping I've stopped Yes I won't deny there is plenty I "want" but for once my sensible side of my brain looks at the checkout cart and the shipping charges being added in and says "nope, you don't NEED it" lol.

@LindaSal Then you would have customers weighing the product at home and disagreeing with the weight and therefore the shipping charge.
Shipping costs determined by USPS or UPS or any other delivery will always be factored in-and in the end some shipping is a bargain if it is a flat rate.
I agree we shouldn't be charged for EACH item that arrives in the same bag/box but total weight of all items being shipped in one package could end up costing more than if a flat rate is used.

My little grandson's school band class was selling shelf-stable cookie dough as a fundraiser. I ordered a 2 pound package for $14.00. They wanted $18.34 on shipping. I feel bad, but I can't do that.
