For the first time, I decided to order something from Walmart and have it shipped to my house.
I placed the order. And received correspondence from Walmart stating the item was being shipped from a third party (from the name of the company I am guessing they made/distributed the product).
Walmart stated via email that I was to receive the product (tablecloth) on Friday December 5.
Walmart sent me an update December 4 stating the product shipped and was received in a facility 48 miles from my house. And stated delivery would be December 5.
This morning I received an email from Walmart stating I was to get a refund. And my order was cancelled.
I sent Walmart an email stating if the item shipped, I did not cancel the order, why was the order cancelled. The AI reply was it was possible they could not find my house (I live in a neighborhood with street signs on every corner and house numbers on every house - GPS has found our house for MANY years) or the product was not available (how could it ship if it wasn't available).
Has anyone encountered this? I don't get how a product can ship but then not be delivered to a large Metropolitan area (outside Philadelphia).
As you can tell I really wanted that tablecloth.
PS - I can order the same tablecloth right now from Walmart and the only option is to have it shipped. Do I bother ordering the same tablecloth again?

Do you rememger the old phrase: "The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing" ???? Same thing STILL APPLIES !!! di

That's why I don't order from third party vendors at Walmart.com.
I had an order floating around for twelve days. And Walmart kept saying it was shipped.

I think shipping is erratic this year, more than in the past.
I wouldn't pin any hopes on getting anything from a third party vendor. This time of year I would only look at a retailer that has something in stock, or order directly from the name brand company.

@drizzellla. 8 get things shipped from Walmart all the time: got one today. I never had that happen.
I'm guessing that somehow your package was damaged and returned to Walmart by a shipper. AI is useless and has no idea what happened. I'd try reordering.

Etsy and Ebay sellers get a 5-star and "excellent" rating from me on their prompt and "first class mail" shipping (!!!!!)

Why aren't you calling and asking Walmart? I dont get asking people here about your Walmart order when you'd only get opinions and not facts about your order.

It was shipped by a 3rd party so anything can happen. It's not Walmart's fault. All these random 3rd parties on various retail sites, including QVC and Walmart, make me wary.

Shop around and see if you can find it elsewhere. The other company may not have pulled it from Walmart's website.

I did go to Walmart "HELP".
I asked why if an item shipped 12/4 - how could the order be cancelled and a refund issued on 12/6.
The reply to my question was from A I. "Talking" to "Help" you don't come in contact with a live person..
It is not like I could call a Walmart store. There was no Walmart store involved. And I have no information about the store that was shipping the tablecloth. Not even a name.
