I think the sateen has a smoother, shiny surface and seems to keep wrinkles away. IMO.

Somehow I tend to go for the 100% cotton. Whoopie Goldberg's sheets are 100% and they are great. I recently ordered sheets from ShopHQ that were a joke. They were so thin that if you held them up you could see through them, sent them right back and lost money on the deal because it cost me $15.95 for shipping...lesson learned.
