Finally found sheets that wash and dry without needing ironing and are a delight to climb into every night. They are 500 thread count by Dreamscape and are sold at Steinmart's. I found them in rust and in dark chocolate. The colors stay beautiful and I've had them for almost 4 years.

Thank you Lindsays Grandma for your response. I will take it........I am leaving Wednesday to drive to the city I am flying out of and then parking my car at my elderly friends home and another friend will be taking me early to the airport and I will have to wait like 4-5 hours and then take off and then when I get to my son's I will have to wait a few hours until he can pick me up so it will be a long day............I can't decide if I should take my computer? I don't have a wireless gadget so I don't know if it will work by just turning it on? I can walk around though and read books........

Wow, I didn't realize you were leaving so soon. I don't know anything about laptops but it sure would be nice if you can take it with you especially with all the hours you will be sitting around waiting. Besides there are some of us who want to hear from you while you are in Texas and how you are doing. How long will you be gone? I do wish you a good trip and give the little one a hug and a kiss from me. Take good care of yourself and don't overdo, rest when you are tired. Have a safe trip.

Its funny you mention Laura Ashley as I just bought the Sophia sheet set and the comforter set. But its in sateen, which you said you don't care for. There are some pretty sets at Bedding style dot com. I just love the blue and white. I buy a lot of bedding since my two dogs insist on sleeping with me and I change the bed every couple of days.

How nice to have your pets with you. One day I am going to have a cat.....I don't know when but one day if I can afford it........it is not easy taking care of myself with the costs of things so expensive....but a cat would make me so happy. I have to give my cat up after my head injury.......I was too sick and hurt to take care of her and being a Siamese she was so mad at me when I got home from the hospital she scratched me......the vet said she was upset and I had to give her to a good home........It was so so sad........I miss her so much.

Thank you so much and I will pace myself but I have a long time to rest when I get back home........I will be back at my home May 26..........so I will be gone a long time......but it will be at least a year or two before I see them again or I would only stay 10 days.........besides we don't know about our lives and I don't know how long I will be alive so I want to take the chance I have and I am going to be positive.........I might can get to a computer at their home every once in awhile........hugs to you and thank you friend. You are so special to me and so are many of the others here...........Happy May Day.......

Oh I'm so sorry you had to give your cat up. I work with rescue groups a lot and know that Siamese cats have real strong personalities and can be very smart and a bit bit*ch*y at times. If and when you do decide to take a cat, go to your local shelter and check the cats out. I recommend spending time with them and finding one that suits your personality. Some are very active, some are really affectionate and loving and some are really laid back and mellow. Most no-kill shelters have cat rooms where you can go and sit with them, pet them, play with them and get to know them. Kitties aren't too terribly expensive in upkeep either. Most shelters have a fee but that includes the first shots, spay or neuter and, good news for you as you are on a fixed income, many do have a program that may include you getting the kitty for free, if applicable. Kitties are easy in upkeep too with box training and they eat mainly high protein foods and mine eats Orijen, a 6-fish dry food kibble that is a bit pricey but she only needs a bag every 3 months along with some canned food. If you keep the cat indoors, it really cuts down on the diseases and injuries they get too so low vet bills as most vet visits with cats are because they are beat up or hurt outdoors.

I think the joy and companionship you would get from having the kitty would far outweigh the expense for you. I also know many shelters here also get donations of food for seniors or people on fixed incomes and the owner of the cat may not even have to buy food as the shelters have programs that they deliver the donated food to them.

Your posts are always so sweet and I know you seem lonely at times and believe me, a kitty would really be an asset for you. When you get back from your trip, take a trip to your nearest shelter and if possible, a no-kill one since it will let you visit often.

I edited to add that if you google cat rescue and then add whatever town and state you live in you will find many cat rescue organizations who are private and exist to find adopters or even fosters for their rescued kitties. You would be surprised how many are around, even if you live in a small town! And, they will really work with you if you are on a fixed income.

I enjoy sheets until they wear out. lol. Probably years. But what I want to say is thank you! Because you reminded me that I need to get out our warmer weather sheets. They are the Northern Nights ones that are like T shirt material and they are my favorite (and I haven't seen Q selling them for a while now in this kind?).

While I know that most folks like soft sheets I prefer cool, crispy ones. One can hardly find them anymore and if you do...they cost an arm and a leg.

I like the crisp ones too and they are hard to find. I don't want any flannel or those microfiber ones.
