She wanted an 18th birthday party..complete with alcohol and they said, NO. She's been caught drunk at school, drunk at her friends house (where she now resides) and other places. Go read the court documents, not just the links/articles provided.
She claimed her father was inappropriate with her and he used to drink with her. She woke up disoriented and he wanted to play beer pong. It's common for drunks to forget anything they do the night before. This could be a classic case of her father being a role model for her behavior. In addition I need more information about her parents and why they split.
What I am saying is I don't think I have the whole story and until I do, I am not going to place complete blame on Rachael. Whatever does happen though, that child will never be the same again. The parents are clearly not interested in her welfare, otherwise they would have done something about it months ago. For myself there is blame on both sides but the daughter will suffer the most.
They can't because she is legally an adult.

I think people should let this family work things out on their own. If she posts on Facebook, just ignore it.
Adults shouldn't go after young people for being unwise. This has been publicized by media as a generational conflict, but it's not an archetype. It's a family problem and not atypical of other families.
I will never understand how easily people accept demonization of other people, just because of the media.

Yes, but they could have immediately gone over to that house she was staying in and found a way to work things out. It seems to me that they are too busy nursing their own wounds and just want to be right.
Who knows why the father was so against her boyfriend? There are too many questions in all of this.. As a parent, though, that bit about her father feeding her booze is a red flag for myself. Good old dad doesn't sound all that innocent to me and he can cry his eyes out in the courtroom but we still don't really know what went on in that household. The fact that it escalated to where she is now suing her parents was the lawyers idea and he got her all charged up about it. She is being used...and it sounds like this isn't the first time.

Has anyone read what the lawyer's gripe against the father is? What's the bad blood between them?

Her twenty minutes of fame was up twenty minutes ago.

We are on the same page. And it happens in many families. It just isn't in the court of public opinion.

Her charges against her parents were investigated by CPS and found to be untrue. She was called spoiled in their report.
The parents, or the father, claims the family she's living with provided her with alcohol since she was 15.
They have shown, in court documents, all of what they have attempted to do with their daughter over the years. None of it worked.

serenity, please go and read the court documents about the case. Her accusations were proven unfounded.
The parents have a self absorbed daughter who did not want to follow their rules. For instance, she was suspended from school for two days and her father took her to work with him. She called her boyfriend and disappeared with him for two days.
She moved out voluntarily (18th birthday) and one of the reasons was because they wouldn't give her a birthday party with ALCOHOL.
The voicemail she left her mother even shocked the judge.

READ the court papers and the FACTS behind this case. It's NOT about what's in the tabloids.

The people who she lives with do not like her parents, whatever the reason. Tis in my opinion would cause a hostile situation for all concerned.
