Not always. Even if you have a sibling or siblings, it doesn't guarantee you that you will be friends/be close when you are adults. Also, some people are very fortunate to have the one child they have. (due to infertility issues etc.)

@RinaRina, this is a rude thing to say on so many levels.

And explains much about the poster's continual difficulties with so many people and groups.

I've not heard of Rina before so I can't speak to "continual difficulties."

IMO the "adopt another" post wasn't terribly bright ( for example, why would anyone adopt because they've seen a post )but I certainly didn't detect any malice.......So maybe consider the source and move on ?

I don't know the poster who made the comment but offensive? I think that's a stretch. When I write a post, it is MY opinion. No one has to agree with it. For that poster, being an only child **cks. Nothing rude or offensive about it. Other people feel differently about it.

I'm sure there are people who wish they were an only child. I would find it no more offensive or rude for them to say having siblings **cks.
