Shawn - Coup de grace (sorry I don't have the ability to type French accents) is a French fencing term that refers to delivering the final killing blow mercifully. It does not mean the ultimate or the best. One could more correctly say "The development of the MP3 player has been the coup de grace for the walkman. Also, if you use the term, the s sound should be pronounced at the end, otherwise in French you are referring to oil.
