@threecees

My son was in braces 3+ years (an exception, I'm sure) for gaps in his teeth - esp the two front teeth.  He was a grinder and it took extra time to train those stubborn teeth.  When the braces came off - WOW! what a beautiful smile!  His teeth are beautiful, white and strong.  His dentist told him recently that he is in the minority for someone his age with such good teeth.  Worth every penny.  Smiley Very Happy

Mostly only rich kids in my generation had braces. I paid for mine as an adult. When the braces came off I got upper and lower molds from my dentist and whitened my teeth.  Very pleased with the result.

Now the students I see all have straight teeth. Most young folks have or had braces and most HS students that I’ve seen have white teeth and beautiful smiles.

A crooked smile is almost a thing of the past.

@Kalli  I could have had braces as a teen, but dentist said a 50/50 case, so none at the time. By the time my kids were 11 & 12...both needed braces and my bite was worse causing headaches, etc. The 3 of us were in braces for 2 yrs. The orthodontist was driving a gorgeous new Mercedes convertible thanks to our family! 😆

@Shanus Yup! My orthodontist put braces on both my kids, too. And he’s got a nice place at the Jersey shore! 🤣
