A British woman purposely gains 50 lbs to show everyone "how easy" it is to lose weight. She has been soundly criticized for making this but I'm sure by the time she is finished, she will change her tune that the simple solution is to stop putting food into one's mouth. This is a two part program shown on Jan 18th and Jan 25th.

""I gained 43 pounds to prove obese people are lazy.""
no bueno!

I saw her interviewed after she had lost the weight and she still held to her belief that if someone was over weight it was because of laziness. She discounted the interviewer's question about thyroid issues, other medical reasons and the woman still said those are just excuses and there is no reason to be fat.
I would guess she's never dealt with a reason that would make it difficult to lose weight.

This is like the show where the fellow ate only McDonalds for a month three meals a day... he got fat and sick... duhh.... Anyone who overeats, and makes bad food choices purposely OR because they are a food addict and just gorging themselves .... is going to get fat/ be fat... and be unhealthy.
I do not think her experiment proves anything that is not already known. Calories in, good healthy food choices... and calories burned by moving and staying active are the best ways to control your weight at a healthy level OR lose excess fat if you are overweight.
It is not complicated. It does not require gadgets, diets, books or prepared processed food like nutrisystem. It is just using your common sense.
