One of the boys is her twin. So he shoots his daughter, in front of his sons (their sister) and he bonds out - please tell me he isn't back at home. I have no words for my feelings

He made bail? OMG. They must not have made it high enough to keep him in there.

Poor kids will never be right. So tragic.

I don't understand where a persons head would be to do this, even if they thought the gun wasn't loaded.
Can any of you imagine, having a gun you thought was NOT loaded, pointing it at your child (or any human or living thing for that matter) and pulling the trigger? This man is simply not right in the head.
I don't have words for my feelings either, but this is very disturbing, he shouldn't be out.

Hummel 9-year-old son told the detective he knew the gun wasn’t loaded at first because “when he shoot it at me it just made a little pop sound,” the report states. The boy said Hummel had allegedly pointed the gun at him “probably like two times” and “a few times” at this brother.
Hummel then loaded the gun and stated “never use a gun, don’t play with guns,” the 9-year-old said, according to the report. Olivia then walked in the room and Hummel — who, according to the 9-year-old, forgot the gun was loaded — turned around and allegedly said, “See don’t play with guns” and “he shooted her,” the report alleges.
After Hummel was brought to the police station, he called Olivia’s mother, Mandy Zormier, and told her to get to the hospital because Olivia was dead. The initial responding officer allegedly overheard him tell her, “I shot her, I’m so sorry.”
He also heard him say, “It was stupid, so stupid.” He then began to cry, the report states.
There is no way, now I don't believe this was insanely criminal on his part. He was aiming it at the boys and then put a bullet in it. DISGUSTED.

I wonder if they ran any tox screens or blood alcohol tests on this jerk as I just can't imagine any normal, rational person behaving like this. For God's sake pointing guns at your children? I personally do not own a gun but have several friends that do and they would never, ever behave in this manner. I just hope after making bail he isn't back in the same house with his children.

OMG, what kind of idiot does this and what kind of judge sets the bail where he could get out?

@momtochloe, those are very good questions. This is just about the craziest thing I have ever even heard.

Things like this really pizz me off.
My family has been in LE and others are firearms instructors. Every one knows to never point a gun at someone, even if you think it is empty, unless you intend to do harm.
This guy is a moron, and makes it bad for all the responsible gun owners.
Then there is the life altering trauma for these two boys.

This just makes me sick. As other's have said, you never point a gun and anyone, ever. First thing I learned was to always treat a gun like it's loaded.
Personally he needs to be charged with manslaughter IMO. There is no excuse.
