I got it!  I was a kid so wasn't at Woodstock, but I remembered seeing footage of this .....

Festival sponsors urged people over a loudspeaker to keep calm, and warned youngsters against accepting bad drugs. Several people became seriously ill after taking bad LSD, and the sponsors announced that someone was selling "bad acid".

So this is poking fun about if Woodstock was held today with the original audience that would all be older by now.

The announcement at the original Woodstock was that the BROWN ACID was possibly "not too good".

Since there were reports of "bad trips" relating to LSD; the warning came from one of the persons in charge of the festival.

This cartoon is a take away from the brown acid.

Brown acid-young people at Woodstock.

Brown arthritis pills-old people reliving Woodstock today.

It's a joke.

Think I am glad I had a misspent youth.  Such announcements were common in other festivals back in the day.

@candyagain  Can you explain?  Thanks!

Good explanations from other posters. If you weren't around in the 60's you might not get it.

I was supposed to go to Woodstock and bowed out when the group I was going to go with expanded with people I wasn't sure about. Stayed back in Boston and watched the news coverage. Never regretted my decision. Great concert, lousy planning.

A joke for seniors only I guess. I LOL'd!  Woman Very Happy

I didn't go to Woodstock but I got it.   Guess you had to be young back then to understand the humor.

@catter70  Chip Monck made the brown acid announcement.

Wavy Gravy made other announcements including the "freak out tents" for people on bad trips. I believe that caused the belief that he made the brown acid announcement.

Wavy Gravy made the "breakfast in bed" announcement, too.
