Re: Senior Assassin “Game”

@JeanLouiseFinch.  Yes, apparently it's going on in my area.  The local police posted a notice about it on the NextDoor App.

They are using water pistols that look very realistic and police are concerned some householder will take a shot at them.  If I was home alone and heard and saw that ruckus, it would really scare me.   Apparently there's a lot of banging and kicking on front doors too.  Somebody's going to get seriously hurt.

It seems parents of teens have abandoned all responsibility for controlling their kids.  Our juvenile crime laws are too lax and kids seem to be holding the rest of us hostage.

Doesn't surprise me that teens, who have grown up learning to hide from gun massacres in the classroom, would up the ante of an old-school childhood game.

Unfortunately, this generation has grown up on video games and this 'game' is more akin to playing one of those out.

And the kids who played cowboys and indians and cops and robbers....what did they grow up on?

Same thing. All about killing and shooting but with different toys.

@Lakelife62.  Huge difference between kid playing with cap pistols in your backyard in daytime and teens running the streets at night in a gang yelling and screaming with realistic-looking guns.

So it's just a difference between what time it is? I can recall being with my sisters and cousins, yelling and screaming in the neighborhood.

These kids are doing the same. Except bigger and louder and instead of caps that made the firing noise, they use water.

They shouldn't do it, because our environment today is filled with fear of the real criminals running around committing mass shootings. Look what happened to that poor little boy several years ago. He was playing with a toy gun in a park and was shot and killed. It's a big risk.

Now the mom and son were on a different tv station and blaming the cops. It figures. 🙄  The son said something along the lines of no one knows what it feels like, to be looking down the barrel of a gun and being scared that you might get shot.  Stupid kid.  What about the fear you instilled in the guy (and maybe others) that called the police and reported you? 🤦‍♀️

Exactly.  See something, say something.  If they wanted to play hunt you down, there is paint ball.  Been around for a long time.  Don't put innocent people in on a "game" you invented.  SMH.

Re: Senior Assassin “Game”

Remember Tamir Rice?

On November 22, 2014, Tamir E. Rice, a twelve-year-old  boy, was killed in Cleveland, Ohio, by a patrolman with the Cleveland Division of Police. Rice was carrying an airsoft gun; Loehmann shot him almost immediately upon arriving on the scene.

The eighteen year old "kid" must not have looked as intimidating.

In my town it's called Water Wars and announcements are made starting weeks in advance by all township departments.

That's a good way for a "senior assassin" to get killed.  I hope the police press charges, big charges, on these fools.

Why would you want to see a young mans life ruined?

Why?  Maybe to see another young mans life saved from being shot by the police.  Also to save a policeman from the pain of shooting a fool with a gun that looks real but isn't.

How about just making illegal to carry any kind of gun in public? Real or fake.

That might solve the problem.
