Good luck, with time, china usually sells, but not for much. A friend tried for over six months to find a good home for a beautiful set of Limoges. He finally did, for a few hundred dollars.
My sister and I have a set of Francison apple, can't even give away. A set of Lenox, Charleston, my DD, she has never used! I have used it. Also two sets of another Lenox, one in a china closet, the other still in box. Sister had used hers, not her DD. These are things back in the day, we all wanted! I lived by Lenox, in Nj and would always go to the factory sales or watch for department store sales!

@Somertime wrote:@ScrapHappy Your Charleston China is selling on Ebay & Etsy for $1,400.00 & 1500.00 for 12 service complete set. I think you should reconsider, please google Lenox Charleston China and get the information you need for a decent price.
Selling on eBay, Etsy is a whole other thing from a garage sale
If you ask that much, no one will even negotiate
As an eBay seller, China takes time to sell
So, do you want a fast nickel or a very, very slow dime
sounds like the OP wants things gone

Is it actually selling at those prices? Or just listed? I highly doubt the sale price will be even a fraction of that-if it sells at all
checking solds now
One place setting just sold for $43 with FREE DELIVERY
that could be 20$ depending on how far it had to go

633 listings of which 23 have sold in the last 3 months

@smoochy I mentioned those because the price of $200.00 for a complete service of 12 including serving pieces was very low. You can watch Ebay and see what it sells for.
The majority of people bargin on the price. My father always said when pople are selling....they are selling gold but when they are buying.....they are buying tin. It never changes!

@ScrapHappy Your china sounds lovely. I would not attempt to sell it at a garage sale. People want you to give away your things.
I would donate it or give it to someone who would appreciate it. There totally are people who would appreciate it....ask around.
Hope it works out for you.

@smoochy wrote:At our moving sale, people countered every posted price with, "will you take a dollar for it"
They dont care how much was originally paid, how much its worth, the sentiment behind it. Has also been my experience with marketplace. Even with ebay-you might find a similar set listed for a similar or higher price-but that doesn't mean it will sell at that price.
We stopped trying to sell used goods. Better to donate or keep. If we need extra cash, this isn't a viable way to get it. People are just too cheap.
I've had the same experience. If I price something at $10, they offer $2 or $3. When my Mom passed, I put her brand new never worn Clark shoes (and other expensive shoes never worn) in the garage sale. I priced most about $25 and I remember one lady offered $5. The china isn't a must sell, I have space for it. Just thinking clear out as much as possible. I guess I'll put it out and just see what happens. I won't sell for a small amount. I'd donate it if it doesn't sell.

My mother had this in her cupboards which is now in mine.

I have no idea what to do with this or who would want it.
I think young people do not want to buy plates or stemware...plenty of that too.

NO. Don't sell this china at a garage sale. Take it to an antique dealer and see what they offer you. Maybe there are more than one dealer in your town. Good luck.
