NEW YORK, Nov. 16, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Marvin Segel, founder of Segel Vision, LLC, announced today a plan to acquire EVINE LIVE, Inc., the multiplatform video commerce company that runs the national television shopping network, "EVINE LIVE" (EVLV), founded in 1990 and headquartered in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. The announcement came after two prior attempts to reach EVINE's Board of Directors failed because, "The Board," says Segel, "refuses to hear the details of the offer." Segel says the deal would have Segel Vision making an equity purchase of the operating subsidiary at a premium of 105%. By establishing a total equity value of $175 Million for Evine, Segel Vision would, in effect, be paying $2.66 per share for Evine. Segel went on to say, "Segel Vision's financing is bona fide, and in place." With the acquisition, Segel Vision's team will merge EVINE LIVE into STARSHOP, an extraordinary Millennial-friendly, influencer and celebrity-driven multi-experience shopping App, launched in partnership with SPRINT Mobile Network.

Hot Potato Channel!
I've lost count of all the name changes, etc.

This ought to be interesting. All we need is a celebrity-driven shopping channel. Maybe Lisa Rinna will migrate over? That wouldn't be a bad thing.

I joined them when they were Value Vision, quite a number of years ago. I believe this will be the third change since that time, maybe fourth? I lost count too.

Oh goodness @sunshine45 I had forgotten about Shophq. I guess that one didn't last very long! I hope they don't mess with their kitchen stuff (at least their Cook's Companion line) but it's nice to have a third option to snoop through/shop with plus I hate to see people lose their jobs so I hope this infusion of cash keeps them in business.

I discovered them when they were ShopNBC. To me, it was the more upscale of the three home shopping channels as they offered gorgeous gems and unique designer jewelry. Then....things changed and I left. For those in the know, what exactly IS the issue with that company?!

So, it's this guy plan to acquire Evine Live. He hasn't even meet the board of directors. This not a done deal

I think they are very tacky and low budget channel....
... but years ago they had the most awesome gold jewelry and gold prices were under 200 a gram... I bought LOTS AND LOTS of gold at that price.... sold a bunch when gold was at it highest a few years ago and made a fortune... kept the favorite Italian pieces that I love to wear today.
I hate their watch shows... hope the new company stops those...
