According to news sources out today, customers of Krogers pharmacy and clinic customers of Kroger have had their social security data breached.

it believes less than 1% of its customers were affected — specifically some using its Health and Money Services — as well as some current and former employees because a number of personnel records were apparently viewed.

It says it is notifying those potentially impacted, offering free credit-monitoring.

Kroger said the breach did not affect Kroger stores' IT systems or grocery store systems or data and there has so far been no indication of fraud involving accessed personal data.

Re: Security Breach at Kroger's

Did this happen again because I heard about this about a year ago.  I had asked an employee about it at the time.

Re: Security Breach at Kroger's

Don't you wonder why this kind of qwap keeps happening and the typical response is then to offer free credit monitoring? How about businesses close the barn door before the horse escapes or is it just plain cheaper to offer a year of LifeLock?
