@SeaMaiden update on stimulus check

@SeaMaiden OK, girl , top this one. I called the bank and asked if they could verify that not only my husband had gotten his back on 4-7 by direct deposit, but, had mine got deposited too.

I gave her the account # and she said "that was YOUR check that got direct deposited".  I said "what, on the get my payment page they used the right digits when I typed in his information and said his had been direct deposited the numbers when I type in my information says it was mailed to an account that I don't recognize" she said those numbers are on your account they're in another part of the number and we looked at our check book and she was right !

So, now, I go back to the get my payment page and type in his information since I haven't been checking his because we assumed he had already gotten his and now it says his will be mailed on the 23rd !

He will probably get next week (if it don't get lost or worse).

I've never heard of anything so stupid in my life ! No wonder we've been going nuts. While the teller was on the phone I turned to him and said "You got my money"!!!  she LOL

why in God's creation didn't they just direct deposit both in first place like they do our SS checks ? Makes no sense. We knew the numbers was right on the direct deposit , but, then, when I checked mine it gave a set of different numbers they took off of the check that we didn't even recognize ! Yeah, it's in there, but, it's not the last 4 digits.

Unbelievable, thank God this is the last stimulus check ! I told you I would let you know and I have.

Re: @SeaMaiden update on stimulus check

Girl it's umbelievable I couldn't have made this up on my best day.

Thank God , almighty, I called that teller ! she found those numbers and pointed them out to me at the bottom of the check. On your membership card they don't have that we thought it was ****, somehow the IRS took 4 numbers from off the big line of numbers and we didn't ever give them any notice, but, yeah, they're there , but, not our account number.

Now, poor hubby who never got the 600 from the 2nd check and had to claim on his 2020 taxes, now,he has to wait and get the MAILED check

@SharkE   Silly thought here -  if it took you an hour to figure all this out, it's like working a 30-hour week for 45 weeks a year and earning just under 2 million dollars - and even if it took you 2 hours, yuou still earned the equivalent of about a million for your time.   Good job!

On a more serious level -  I don't think the IRS and SS share all their records with each other.  That would account for some of the problem, but it's probably better not to have all that info in one place.

Re: @SeaMaiden update on stimulus check

Lot longer then that ! We've been waiting for 'mine' to hit since he got 'his' on 4-7th. We did nothing wrong. We paid in our 2020 taxes, everybody has our joint account, same numbers, we both now get SS. all the idiots had to do  was mail both checks to the same bank. over and out.

Nope, nothing is easy in this world

@millieshops    They have to share records.  My $1400 was direct deposited yet the IRS has no banking info on me.  I haven't gotten a refund for over 20 years.  They have to have gotten it from SS where I do have direct deposit.

Re: @SeaMaiden update on stimulus check

@SharkE OMG! That is so confusing only the IRS could come up with it!

Ours was deposited the same day same transaction into checking but individually deposited ( 2@ $1400.00).

How did they ever mix up both  your names and accounts like that?  You share your checking account right?

Do You get your Social Security checks depostied into that account as well?

We do.

Well ... I hope your DH finally gets his deposited.... We already spent our money on our first half property tax bill due end of this month...  It was $3000.. ( total of $6000 a year)  easy come and easy go...Woman Mad

Re: @SeaMaiden update on stimulus check

I'm glad everything got settled (sort of) with the stimulus check.

@SeaMaiden , fainting at your property tax bill. That is a ridiculous amount to pay! Ours is less than $400 for the whole year.

@teganslaw     Washington State.. No income tax here so we make up for it in very high property taxes... my house is no fancy castle or anything.. a very average home, but combined with the over inflated propery values in Seattle and the inflated property taxes... we are robbed . I could live in a REALLY NICE HOUSE  in another state... compared to what I live in and the value they put on our average house (of $700,000).

Thank God @SeaMaiden  you saw this I was afraid they would delete it. I wanted you to know above all.

We didn't do nothing wrong. Have one account, both names, SS checks go in once a month in same account.

2020 taxes have been paid, they have all information they need.

they used the real last 4 digits of account # on his check back on 4-7 which the teller told me was my 1400. Then, when I checked what I thought was my 'get my payment' it said it went to a whole different account # we didn't recognize. So,  we  sit and waited for 3 weeks, then, I called the bank and they said "those are your numers look down at the bottom of the check" they were mixed in with the real account #  that we always went by. What is on your membership card with the bank ! Why we didn't even recognize those weird numbers we never paid any attention to that whole big long line.

they picked out 4 different numbers !  so, knowing that the first deposit was really mine, I ran and checked his on the get my payment page and no mention of direct deposit , but, now it's

gonna be mailed Friday.

totally crazy !  Just glad  I got it and hopefully he got his.

thanks Mods for not poofing this thread if anybody wants to complain they can go ahead I'm at peace.

By the way our property tax is 4,000 a yr. Tx freezes property tax when you reach 65. Hopefully, that will not change in the following months.

Texas has no State income tax why they make it back on property tax.   6 of one, half dozen the other they will make it back 1 way or the other, plus, we have to have our cars, trucks, inspected yearly and get the sticker on windshield, if get stopped and don't have proof of inspection. good Luck.
