Here's what I know. They WILL cancel your account if you continue to return at the rate you've been returning items. How do I know? It happened to a friend of mine after she received that letter and didn't heed it!

That's so tacky.
I'm laughing at their suggestion to listen closer to the hosts. They will say and do everything except give all the facts about products.
If Q did a better job giving details on air and online, perhaps returns wouldn't be so high.
I received one of these about 11 years ago. That's when I really started price shopping. Q has lost most of my business because they are rarely price competitive, and other retailers don't charge shipping/eturns and offer good promo codes.

I am too cheap to pay for returns so very careful about ordering. I don't order many clothing items as I don't need many new things, retired. My returns are Qs errors or damage/defect. I have donated a couple things rather than bother to return. I rarely chance order numerical clothing sizes. I know and Q Large fits.
This has been discussed before and others have gotten the letter. Some posters agree not fair as others say it is advertised and promoted to be able to return or exchange an item. I think it is poor CS to tell one to listen to the hosts as many do not discuss detail, colors or sizes.Looking at reviews if available and a size chart makes more sense.
I'd move on given that advice. Who phones in orders any more unless forced to? CS operators don't always have a clue , read the charts to you?

I’m sure you did listen to the host, @sheetsheba and they encouraged you to "just get it home and try it on. If you don’t like it, return it!" That is misleading.
Saying “listen more carefully” puts the blame on the customer, when the real issue might be inconsistent product quality, misleading presentations, or poor fit.

Not everyone has a computer, tablet, smartphone.

I have never received that letter but I would feel very insulted if I did. Returns are expensive and since we are paying for shipping and returning the Q isn't really losing out except for having to restock. Clothing is definitely resold to other customers - I guess beauty items are a total loss.

@sheetsheba - If you received the letter, you should probably shop local or shop elsewhere.
No, I've never received the letter. I rarely return.

Suggesting people should just shop locally is not the answer. @San Antonio Gal Inconsistent product quality and unclear sizing, along with the host pushing to buy, “get it home, wear it for 30 days and return if you aren’t happy.” That’s the problem.

When I first saw the channel on tv, I was impressed by how much info was given about a product. Several hosts had a small ruler for measuring jewelry, the fabric content was mentioned, the focus was on the product. I remember Jill talking about crop pants being a better choice for many of us, rather than capris.
I haven't seen complaints about the letter recently and thought the Q decided it wasn't a good idea.

@CalminHeart I agree it's tacky. I am disappointed when I receive something that is either too big or too small because I akways check the garment measurements before I buy but sometimes the garment measuremebts are off or quality is not quite there. I certainly don't want to feel compelled to keep something for fear of receiving a scolding from the Q. A friend of mine worked as a buyer in retail for many many years. She said there is at least a 75% markup on all clothing.
